A further update, I again considered moving away from lifebirds to MyBirdList, because I now have an android phone, and My Bird List supposedly supports android

MyBirdList, has the ability to bulk import observations , therefore if you make observations on one device, you can email them to yourself and upload the new additions into the other device(s) you own. Sounds great but on trying this, I found a serious bug, on import functions it forces all sightings made at one location to the date of the earliest location so you get trash out. (I have contacted the developer and they say they will address this point) Second, it uses UK English spelling and naming rules and cannot make associations with US English names, so you get a ton of species unidentified, do to things like Color vs Colour, Grey vs Gray, white-Winged vs white winged, etc..... In fact it shows 70 of my 420 species on my life list as unknown. The developer has not commented on this issue or whether they will address it in future , however it is really only an issue for bulk upload. A third issue is there is no text based search, so if you want to just type all or part of a name, and see the options to pick from, you can't. Lifebirds could do this and it is useful, otherwise you are left scrolling down the list, and while this list is sortable by country, scrolling through 800+ species for canada , as an example! is not efficient. One last point to warn people of, is that the last update of the species list trashed all the sightings in my test file. A word of caution, if you use this app, email an export of your data to yourself just in case
On the plus side, it has photos of birds, allows to upload images, allows for gps and location service mapping, or manual position mapping.
For iPad / iPod users there is also a bug where when you update a list with no location it sets location to current
I down loaded the app and it failed to install the photo database, and every time it opens on my Samsung G7 I get an error message that I should switch to faster internet, as if 100mb/sec is not enough
The help page now leads to a website that does not exist, and nature mobile, the supporter of the product no longer shows it as a product on their site, and does not respond to queries or requests for help
In short don't buy it for android
