Anyone got any ideas of where to visit in between Perth and Adelaide, Ive got about 12 days to complete the trip in the trusty (cough cough) Falcon. I haven't been across the Nullabor before.

The beaches around Ceduna are pretty good by all accounts. A day walk through Mt Remarkable National Park is worthwhile.

last stop could be the Grampians just before you arrive at Bendigo.

I love the Grampians and the Arapiles. I don't visit as often as I would like though.

I'd say relaxing and enjoying will be high on the agenda. Only 12 days seems to be the problem.

I'll be sleeping in a tent so early to rise and early to bed. Tripod is already packed.

Has anyone been to the bird sanctuary at Cocklebiddy?

The granite coastline near Esperance is great. Be VERY careful of large waves if venturing onto the coastal rocks and a grey/black slime that grows on granite which is regularly wetted by waves. Ok when dry but LETHALLY slippery once splashed by a wave. The granite rocks tend to tilt down towards the water so once you slip.....

Great limestone coastal cliff vistas once in SA. Be cautious of standing right on the edge of the limestone cliffs once on the Nullabor and down along the SA west coast. Often these are undercut underneath by erosion and you may only be standing on 12 inches or less of very weak limestone.

Not wanting to put you off, but simply a few safety tips from someone who has fished out that way over the years.

Murphy's Haystacks near Streaky Bay could make some interesting photos in late afternoon light. Pt Labatt cliff tops near Streaky Bay where you can look down on a seal colony (long lens would help). Also a spot nearby where you can do organised swims with seals in shallow water.

If you head down towards Pt Lincoln, then Coffin Bay and the national park is worth a look.

This time of year, the wild flowers will be in season along the southern WA Coast and already likely to be at their best inland at Kalgoolie and similar areas. Might still be a few whales at the head of the Bight.

The Bird sanctuary at Cocklebiddy was great. Eucla and beaches amazing. The cliffs were breathtaking but no good for photos as the general haze muted everything. The car did play up and I was called home early so I did not have time to do nearly as much as I would have liked.I had to travel at night on three occasions as the car didn't like the heat. I took heaps of snaps with few good photos. Missed the whales and the wild flowers.

Mt Remarkable looked imposing as I drove past. put it on the bucket list.

I am looking forward to doing the trip again

I'll be at Mt Arapiles next weekend. Climbing, not photography, will be the focus but I'll try to force myself up early for some sunrise goodness.
