The wife and I went out to the Osyka, MS Christmas parade this afternoon. Figured it would be a good opportunity to practice a little street photography with the Oly and the Panasonic 25mm... something I seldom do because I spend so little leisure time in town. I'm more into "road photography"... lol. It looked as if my plan was going to work out well until I discovered (horror of horrors!)... there was no SD card in the Oly! Fortunately it wasn't the only camera I packed for the ride... so I "settled" for using the K-1 and the D FA 28-105mm. This in itself was an eye opening experience. See, I bought the lens about a year ago, but I've been such a "prime snob" lately that I really haven't given this zoom its due diligence. I wound up having the greatest time shooting with this lens! Nothing slow or deliberate about my plan. TaV mode, f:8 and 1/250 second, and I clicked away with those settings all afternoon. And the zoom was fun... It brought me back to my early film days with my first SLR (K-1000 and cheap A series 35mm - 70mm zoom). Going through the numerous photos, I think I captured a fair number of keepers. I may have a new favorite street lens
Submitting this one to satisfy the "light" theme. I like the placement of the setting sun.
And this one as an extra, because it's one of my favorites of the day:
