Hello, my fellow MN Pentaxians - just joined this group after the PF "group" functionality was restored today

I shoot a K-30 with a little bit of everything for lenses; DA, FA, D-FA, A; relatively new to the DSLR world and the few, the proud, the Pentax users in MN! It doesn't look like this thread is too active, but thought I'd send a quick not to see if you guys are active in any other photo communities around the Twin Cities that you'd recommend?

Welcome, Dan! If you urban pentaxians ever get up to the North Shore you are always welcome to stop by the farm. Wait for some more snow to melt first. The Tall Ships are coming to Duluth this summer. There will be some awesome opportunities there.

Paul, I know the arboretum has some photo classes and there are also some via MPLS photo in NE MPLS, perhaps one of those?? Otherwise if there are others in the Twin Cities we could put something together.

Jon - perhaps we will make it to the North Shore this summer - would also be interested when the big ships are there!

Dan, just let me know when you plan to go to the arboretum. I will make time to get there. I think a get together for the tall ships would be a great opportunity for all to get to know each other.

July 25-29. They already have 9 ships booked and possibly a couple more. I saw one from my deck a couple of years ago, but couldn't get down to Duluth. This time I will try really hard. Should be some amazing photo ops, especially if we can get on board the ships. They are a sight to behold!

If you're looking for an "event" - this may be of interest to some. I'll be out of town that weekend, but it looks like it might be a nice opportunity to pick the brains of some experts.....

Any one planning to go to Duluth for the Tall Ships in july?

I am sure hoping to make it. There are at least 10 ships coming in. It is the largest single event in Duluth as far as numbers of people turning out, but some awesome photo ops. I am about 120 miles farther up the lake, but can usually see a few as they sail toward Duluth. Here is a link:

Hello and merry Christmas. I shoot a K30, mostly with Pentax primes: 15mm Ltd, 35mm Ltd, 70 mm Ltd, and Sigma 50mm. I do love my 18-135 WR for lousy weather. And the DA 55-300 is my eagle catcher lens.

Hope we can schedule a photo shoot.
