Very nice. Sometime when you have time we should talk. I really liked him and got to interact with him a little. He was also friends with one of my dad's best friends.

The 29th is doable but only in the afternoon. Hotter then.

I know this is an old thread, but i certainly would be interested in any trips with those of you around Charlotte

I am a wee bit closer to Charlotte than I used to be (maybe twenty minutes). With all the previous posts dating from before the pandemic, I suspect there are some who are not quite ready for an outing while others are okay with it.

Let's organize something! We can always drive separately and stay a bit apart and wear a mask if we get closer. I'm game.

Well... Elkin is only about 1.5 hours from me. And there are fun things to photograph and wineries for my wife to enjoy...

Elkin Creek Winery has a brick oven pizza oven and they do a great job with it. They also have a nice old mill and a creek. That might make a reasonable location to start from - although I am not really eating pizza these days... argh.
