Hi,
I went for a USA Sumo open at CSU LB to take some pictures and got turned away because of the 'professional grade equipment'. I spent some 10 minutes looking around their website, and googling the rules, but none of it was mentioned. Or at the very least it was not obvious. The security guard even mentioned that it is rule for their arena (walter pyramid), so call ahead if you want to shoot an event there. Otherwise you might spend an hour on 405 for nothing, like I did.

How sad! And frustrating.
But kind of nice that they recognize professional grade equipment...

I've been told the same at college events, even a high school football game. In Scotland we were told we just had to keep them in the bag. Value of having a lumix along, too...
Wife doesn't get questioned as often with red k50. So if k1 is in color, it could be even more tempting!

Pretty frustrating. I will bring a micro four thirds camera next time. I just wished they wrote about it anywhere on their website.
Another thing they said, is that they are open to the media, so I might get a freelancer ID if that keeps happening.

Man that hurts. And to think of the amazing macro shots you could have bagged!
