On Friday night (30th May) I did a video recording of an event at Acacia Ridge and took my K100D Super & stills tripod (Velbon Sherpa 450R) to get some stills for the DVD label and case. After the event I had to go to Kangaroo Point to pick up a relative, so on my way back, because I still had my equipment in the car, I decided to pull into the Kangaroo Point Cliffs for about 15 mins of shooting. I've published two of the photos here:

I learnt:
* Need a torch for night-time shooting with M lenses to confim f-stop settings.
* Long exposure shots are hard even with a tripod. I turned off SR. I may try it next time with SR or with remote triggering.
* Tried to do a number of 3-shot (-2EV, 0EV, +2EV) HDR sequences. Did not come out the way I expected. While need to try harder.
* It helps if you're not rushed for time.
* There was a long gap after the first 2 shots until the 3rd shot in the HDR sequence (3-5 secs or so) that I haven't experience in daytime HDR shooting. Perhaps it was the effect of dark-frame subtraction for the long exposure times.
This one wasn't planned. But I'd like to go back soon. (Within 4 weeks.) Anyone interested in coming along?
