Hi all,
Here are more shots from that Buffalo Airways hangar tour. The tour is free of charge. They just ask that you book with them a day in advance. It was pretty neat. I'm not as much of a 'plane geek as I used to be, but it was still a lot of fun. Highly recommended.
Here are the photos.
Ceiling ornaments.
N3N (?)
Lockheed L-188 Electra.
A day or two after the tour we saw this one come roaring in over town, its distinctive osprey on the tail visible as it passed overhead.
Curtis C-46 Commando:
Retired DC-4
The hangar was originally built to handle a Boeing 707, so it's a good size.
The office space is chock full of archival photos of air operations in the Northwest Territories and furnished with the ghosts of aircraft past. There were old wooden aircraft skis against the wall, an engine mount was serving as the base for a glass coffee table, etc. Worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood.

Thanks for the photos! It's a cool collection of aircraft. Interesting to see a photo of a Trimotor with skis, too.
