So there I was at the Wildfowl Reserve at Sevenoaks, UK trying out my Sigma 170-500 and K5 when two herons flew in and started fighting. The bigger one won! I don't know my herons; was this a male/female domestic?
Hope you like them. Postprocessing was Levels and Contrast using Elements 10.

Very dramatic series, John!
It's not a male/female domestic - the sexes are very similar - but it might be domestic anyway: Looks like an immature getting told off by an adult.

Great action! The last is particularly good - the victor and the vanquished.

Great shots! Yeah, no sex difference, but age differs! The juveline delinquent being told off in no uncertain manner!

Good series that.
I like herons. Fascinating birds to watch.
I like the kit you've used as I hope to buy the K-5 and Sigma 170-500 in the future.
Was wondering, did you use a tripod or hand-held?

Thank you for your comments, everyone.
Mickey, I was sitting in a wooden hide with the camera on a monopod.
