Greetings from a fellow K-x user. Have had mine for about two years and really enjoying it as much as possible. I did notice there is another K-x group on the forum. Hope to get acquainted with folks here and learn from you. I will do my best to provide some words of wisdom when I can (and if).

I had two Kx, and am selling one because I bought a K5 recently. I am still keeping one Kx as a backup.

We, the wife and I, have sold off one K-5, and kept our K-x!

There has been no discussion here since August, 2012???? Wow, are we slipping or have you all sold your K-x's? I was just looking at the comparison chart using my original DSLR (an istDS), the K-x, and the K5. There is a note that the K-x cannot shoot tethered. I disagree. I have tethered mine to my laptop and the photos save directly to the file I choose. I have the program PK_Tether. Have any others used the program? For me it is a valuable tool. Discussion?

I still have my K-x and have no plans to sell/upgrade in the immediate future. I too have successfully used PK Tether to tether my K-x, so it is most definitely possible and worked very well.

Welcome Sonata. Nice to know somebody is visiting the site. I am guilty of not being here often or lately.

Do you use the short cord that was included with your K-x for tethering or have you found/obtained a longer one? I have only the included one and at times find it a bit short. if you have a longer cord, where did you get it, and any chance more are available?

I come by sometimes but i'm not a big fan of writing in forums.

In march will be 4 years with my K-x, i believe it's arround the 60.000th shot. I've been wanting to upgrade for a long time but it's getting hard due to economic crisis in my country blah blah whine blah. Nevertheless, my K-x (aka Vera) shall remain in my camera bag until it stops working or gets destroyed beyond repair (or if it's stolen); and afterwards never be forgotten. It's a great camera, no doubt

Welcome, tehSancho, good to have a reply. I agree with you, keep the K-x til it no longer functions or is stolen. I upgraded from an istDL and now have two K-x's and have only about 10,000 shots on each (I don't shoot as often as I should, obvioulsy), and will keep mine until they "die" or something exceptionally superior comes along, and at a reasonable price. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it (or replace it)" is my motto.

Yeah, I bought mine in june 2010 and I just reset for the 3rd time the picture count in the filename... I am back to IMGP0005.jpg...
