I have a friend in Portland interested in getting a DSLR and I was wondering where she might be able to go try a K-x out.
What camera stores carry Pentax in the Portland area?

I have not seen many Pentax DSLRs in Portland. I bought my Samsung from Citizen's, but that's no longer an option. I believe I've seen Pentax mentioned on the Advanced Camera website, but have not been there for many years. Best Buy has Pentaxes on their site - perhaps the stores do as well.

I've never seen a Pentax in Best Buy display in their stores. But I've heard some people say that Fry's has some in CA and TX, so perhaps ours does as well. Might be worth a call - but I've also heard that the cameras at Fry's rarely are charged or have batteries, so there's not much info to get from this.

I have a kx, so if your friend is interested, maybe we could meet at a public area (maybe Lloyd Ctr or the Convention Ctr)... PM me if interested.

Shutterbug in downtown Portland is supposed to be a Pentax dealer, though I have no idea what they have in stock.

I stopped into Shutterbug for a moment--on SW Washington, just west of Broadway--and saw a K-5 and a 12-24/4, at the very least. I'm pretty sure a few display cameras were Pentax.

I've seen Pentax DSLR's at Fry's in Wilsonville, but their customer service is terrible and a lot of the cameras on display usually don't work.

I bought my K10D at Shutterbug, and I noticed Pentax products featured on the Camera World website. Their store is SW 6th / Washington downtown.

Camera World (Ritz) is selling Pentax again? Good news! (...sort of...)

Advanced Camera has the KX. I was there today and saw several on the shelf.

Cool! I knew that Advanced Camera sold Pentax through their Web site, but did not know that they maintained stock at their store. Excellent news!
