Vivitar Series 1 Macro Club

Please post your images from Vivitar Series 1 90 and 105 Macros, Macro zooms, Lester A Dines, Kiron macro, and any others I have missed that made macros for Vivitar Series 1 lines,

Please also post any information you have about these lenses, such as history, serial numbers etc. These are often described as legendary macros, this information will help newcomers to Pentax fold look for these lenses and acheive macro capability at reasonable prices.

This thread is rather redundant. There is a thread already for the Lester A Dine variations and another for the general Vivitar Series 1 lenses. These are both including plenty of shots from VS1 macro lenses. Admins should add the Lester thread to the Lens Clubs category.

Also. these lenses have already been hyped to the point where they no longer are affordable and in fact cost as much as modern new lenses with autofocus. The Vivitar Series 1 105/2.5 will sell these days for around $350 and given that the Sigma 105/2.8 is superior in pretty much any way and can be obtained for a similar price on the used market, it doesn't make much sense to pick the VS1.

Nice shot, would have been better if slightly over exposed. or some flashlight used.

Flash is a must for macro, agree! Its really good that these lenses have A contacts, makes it so much easier for flash.
