1.4x + DA55-300 ? Wow, very good results. I´ll have to try my AFA 1.7x.. I had tried it with the FA80-320 but the results where no better than cropping the same image without the TC

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Vivitar. From what I can gather it is basically the Tamron 1.4x without the SDM contacts. The results with the 55-300 are much better than those with my Promaster (Cosina) 100-400 which was a purple monster even without a converter...

The DAL 55-300 has been great for my daughter's soccer pics, but here's another reason to love it.
Dolphins were about 75-100 yards out. Good light, so I was able to shoot at f7.1, ISO 1000, 1/1250, continuous shooting on my K-30. I had prefocused in the general vicinity of where the dolphins were, but these pics demonstrate how fast the AF is.
