Tamron SP 90mm macro 1:2.5 52B P/K

Fantastic lens. Focus throw is a bit long but virtually no CA even towards the sun. Bokeh in my mind is as good as it gets. The colours are natural; i was surprised how close the output was to the actual subject, both n the LCD and in Aperture. This is the P/K version so no adaptall issues. 1:2 so to get 1:1 an extension or 1.4 TC is necessary. Bought this back in the eighties and it's been sitting in storage for a few years. Almost put it up for sale until I put it to a test tonight on the K5. No sale contemplated.
First pic has minimal sharpening w/NIk Sharpener Pro. The second is untouched, straight post from the download.

It has the same problem several of my 'original' lenses have - K55 1.8, A*300, etc. Taking up space, think I'll sell, try 'em one more time and I'm hooked again.

I have one too and my complaint with it is its relatively low contrast. Its also not as sharp as my Micro Nikkors. Worth a punt if you can find a cheap one though.

love this lens, both as a macro & as just a close-focusing telephoto:

Wow! Spectacular images. Maybe I should ask for my lens back.

I don't see a 52BB thread. And it would be stupid anyway, the 52B and 52BB are optically identical, all that changed was the build. There is a thread for the 52B plus the extension tube or teleconverter.
