replaced missing one with this. A little overexposed, thats user error, not the lens.

Nobody using this much. I like it.
It can't be any good, the reviews say so

I have both the DA50-200 and the DA55-300. I know which one I prefer.

- Handheld at 1/3 sec at 137mm - Pentax image stabilisation at its best.

Just got this lens 2 nights ago, just one indoor test shot. Hope I can find more time to field test it.

All taken with K-5

137,5mm, f/8, ISO 200

And next ones are shot after the "swimming" of K-5 and the lens (be careful when you're at a lake!!). After drying both were working but I sent them for repair anyway, the body was repaired (new mainboard installed) but the lens wasn't because it would've cost more than buying a new one. All that's wrong with the objective is that every single lens of it are dirty.

160mm, f/5.6, ISO 200

200mm, f/8, ISO 400

150mm, f/13, ISO 400

Thanks for posting these. I'm going to pick up a DAL 50-200 on the cheap, and these are very helpful. Needless to say if this particular copy is as good as half the images I see from here I'm sold. It would be used for people shots most of the time anyways, but I see that it might be a half decent nature lens too. The rendition is pretty nice. Definitely a step above the crappy takumar A70-200/f4 I've been slugging away with. I'll be sure to post something I get from a shoot I'll use it for tomorrow. I'll get a really good chance to test it out for a thousand shots.

Wow. Wide open this lens is very usable. Between 100-200 is very good. I've seen worse corner softness from a Canon L 70-200. This outperforms every old MF 70ish-2/300 I've tried. The center is tack sharp and the sharpness extends all the way to the edges. Only the corners seem to suffer wide open. I don't think I will be parting with this lens. I'd love to see what a 55-300 is like on my k-5 if it is indeed better optically. Even at 200 this lens is fully usable wide open. The reviews lie.

That is why 'a picture is worth a thousand words' or review measurements. I have both the DA50-200 WR and the DA55-300. There is really not that much difference between the two except in size and weight.

i bought this while I needed a telephoto WR lens. I've sold it after the WR version of 55-300 was released but it served me well. Must have gotten a really good copy to get such sharp image at 200mm

This is the lens I picked to go with my k5-II body. The price had a lot to do with that but I don't regret it at all.
