Here are some images from my Pentax K10D camera using the heavy smc P-K 200mm F2.5 manual lens. There is no A setting, so all aperture changes must be accompanied with a green button push. I've been able to control a lot of the purple fringe from this lens by using a high quality UV filter - by reducing the incoming light that would not be focused properly there is less to correct.
It's a heavy lens at nearly a full kilogram. I've sent my copy off to Eric for cleaning and the focus is smooth. It's ready for another 30 years of use.
Under bright skies you can stop down and get great color rendition as well as nice DOF separation at the same time.
Inside handheld under stage lights it works well.
Here's an example of a shot where I used the UV filter to help control the problem areas.
