SMC-FA 50mm 1.7

Just had the lens 5 hours ago and am loving everything about it... Perspective, FL, Bokeh, AF, you name it...
Check out some pics taken after I got hold of it. Will definitely keep this one.

Cheers

I've got one of these that I picked up from a local Pentaxian. I have an M50 1.4 which I use if I really need the 1.4's (allegedly) superior bokeh, but the 1.7 is sharper, or at least more contrasty, at wider apertures and works very well. Very useful little lens. Surprisingly few of them around.

I have the F50 1.7, which is the same thing, just different electronics and housing. Excellent lens, incredibly fast and accurate focus, even in darker conditions when my FA35 misses. Sharp from wide open and incredibly sharp at F2.2, where I spend a lot of time shooting with it.

Knowing what bird this is begs the question of, how with a 50mm? Or were you looking for another type bird, maybe a turkey?

It was at a nature center. The bird has set up a territory along a trail, he's been there since last fall. When you walk down the trail he comes out and walks with you. In my case he attacked my shoes because I wasn't walking fast enough. Every one there seems to think he's friendly, one person even says he sat on their shoulder...

That explains it. I mostly see them as a minor explosion followed by a brown streaking blur.

Uninspiring test shot, but shows central IQ and bokeh wide-open. Full size (16MP) on click. This specific lens - unbelievably - has a reasonable amount of fungus too!

FA50/1.7 wide open @ f/1.7
