Extremely unscientific test by putting a piece of newspaper on the dining room table, under artificial light and shooting from tripod at a 45 degree angle to minimize DOF. I will save you all of the boring images but suffice it to say that the Arsat is clearly struggling a f2.8 especially edges and corners both in sharpness and contrast but that improves tremendously and is already quite good at f5.6
This is a "poor man's" set consisting of an Arsat-B 80mm f2.8 lens with Pentacon-six mount on a K-mount tilt adapter (no shift), purchased together from the Ukraine at ca. €155 new and delivered within 10 days. Quality is solid Sovjet-style but regretfully so is the finishing
The tilt adapter functions smoothly and perfectly, the lens is clean and the aperture blades are metal colored (not black) but clean and smooth.
The left shot is at 0 degree tilt, second one is at full 8 degree tilt down to maximize DOF and the third is at full tilt up to minimize DOF, details from the lower and upper edge follow.
Now I'll have to start looking for a real photographic subject!
