Picture 10 of 18 from Album Guatemala
Lake Atitlan Volcano. There are seven volcanoes which ring the lake. During our time in the country, it seemed like there was an active volcano around every corner. In terms of composition, even the smoke from the volcano co-operates to create two diagonal lines - bottom left to top right - that is intersected by the distant shoreline which is horizontal. By the village on the lower left, you can see how high up we are on the mountain road. Roads are like this in Guatemala - if your car hops the curb, you can fall hundreds of feet before landing.
