Goldmine Stream Falls
This is a hike in New York State off Powley-Piseco Road in the Hamilton County section, which is a seasonal limited use highway. The trail head is just short of six and a half miles from the Route 10 end of the dirt/gravel road. It's a great spot, but unfortunately the hike is muddy with three stream crossings. The first crossing has a decent bridge. The second one has a place where you can ford the stream without too much trouble when the water is not high. The third crossing, though, is a marshy spot, and when I went the water was probably two feet deep or more. There are remains of an old bridge, but they are not much help at this point. I was determined, so I got wet, but if I go again I may bring fishing waders :-).
