I appreciate your message. I was going to search for a book on my camera, so I could get a better understanding of it. I will get some more hands on experience with my camera and lenses, so I can have a better idea of how things work generally, but will order the e-book as well.

I intend to get out and do a lot of photographing, but as I had a stroke a while back, I can't drive yet, so am limited to what I can get to with our transit system.

I understand the May photo contest subject is flowers, so I will see what I can come up with for an entry. I appreciate your comments on my photos; I have been reading quite a bit about photo composition over the past six months, and I guess it helped..

Kendra, just a private message to you. Your introduction indicates you have enjoyed photography in the past, took a hiatus of a few years, and switched from film to digital which has a bit of a learning curve.

You said finances are limited, but I suggest you invest in the e-book for your K50, just 10 USD. It provides many important and useful comments on using the camera. I have them for my Kx and my K70. Each provided me with several processes or settings to make my photography easier and better.

I've been into photography, film and digital, since 1970 when I bought my first SLR. I am not an expert or a professional, but I do think you will benefit from the e-book.

I sincerely wish to help you get back into photography as smoothly and easily as possible. The photos you posted show you have a good eye for composition, color and subject matter. I Hope to see more of your work in the future

Welcome to the forum and back to photography.

    Chuck

    About Me
Born in Alberta, worked in oil fields until late 90’s. I was too busy to explore photography then. Moved to BC about 6 years later, and bought my first digital camera. I liked using it, but bought a better camera (DSLR) to have fun with. Had a stroke about 10 years ago, and photography was a lot less “fun.” I sold my camera gear about a year later. Now on mend, and have bought good used Pentax set up. I am having fun again!
