This is the shooting stick I used for the yoke. It is a fine monopod by itself, but I wanted one that could be carried in a normal camera bag.

Hi newarts (Dave?),

Following a search for best smallest monopod, I came upon your posting of the 9 section monopod you built. I loved it! Very clever fabrication (I'm not fond of the current term "hack") Keeping the fasteners centered while the epoxy sets seems to be the difficult aspect and maybe a jig wouldn't be too tough for a one-off set up.

My question is where did you find the yoke? It looks familiar but, for the life of me, I can't place it. I'd like to fab a 'pod using tension rods (folding tent pole) and I don't see the need for a ball head. If you'd set me on the right path, I'd be so appreciative. There are not many "Y" shaped fittings out there.
