Thanks. Now I need to decide which of my Pentax bodies to have modded and which IR filter to have installed.
    thanks again

I have used the DA 10-17 for IR so I don't think it will be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. It was full of useful info. I will search to see what else you have posted on IR. A little depressing that the 10-17 shows such variation. Guess the saving grace is it is not designed for IR.
    thanks again

DA 10-17mm - no hotspot on my copy but others say there is one. Flare can be an issue, but depends on the copy.
DA 12-24 - moderate hotspot, more obvious when stopped down
    DA 14 - no hotspot
DA 15 - no hot spot
DA 18-55 - no hot spot

Can do a search I posted a list of lenses suitable for IR.

Hello creampuff. I see that you have an IR modded Pentax. I am getting one of modified soon. Have shot some IR with normal bodies and lenses with filter. The 18-55 works well. My Pentax 16-45 has major hotspot. You have many of the same Pentax lenses I do. Could you reply on which lenses are hotspot free and useful for IR? Most interested in wider lenses than 18.

I have the Sigma 8-16, Pentax 12-24, and old Pentax A15 3.5 film lens. Also have Pentax 10-17 fisheye. Would be nice to know I had a wide IR lens.
    thanks in advance
