I too doubt the wasps got them. I have seen them take spiders several times and it is always the same kind of meety ugly spider.

I so envy you living were there are lots of bugs.
There aint much here at all. I keep finding myself shooting the same bugs day after day longing for a mantis or any other colorful bug. Flies and dragonflies just aint enough.....
Maybe I have to move to Brasil or something...

Honestly i have no idea if they would survive the trip. I severely doubt those wasps are the issue, especially because as far as I know they only prey on larger spiders (more for their babies to feed on).

I just went into my backyard to check on a juvenile argiope living next to my house and subsequently found an addition two jumping spiders with only being outside for no more than 3 minutes, both different species. I didn't continue looking because I dont have time but you get my point. Some area's are more abundant for some insects (my friend's house has hundreds of praying mantids yet I rarely see any at my house and we live very close to eachother whereas he's got zero jumpers).

    LOL
    15 in keeping!
    Are these guys mailable?

Jumping spiders and Dragonflies are so darn cute. They behave so incredibly human like, sort of. They seem so curious and friendly. I have been petting dragonflies this weekend. Incredible. Some even landed on me after I gently pet them on the wings.

The weather aint great but we have a had a few warm days with sun and about 27 degrees C
When I saw them this spring they always disappeared as soon as the sun did and came back with it just as quick.

We have had a lot of hymenopterans ( http://forum.odla.nu//uploads/1244878223/gallery_12674_1550_16447.jpg?q=foru...1550_16447.jpg ) and I know they catch spiders alive and buries them in hole for their larvas to feed on.

Perhaps they also caught the jumpers?

Hey Martin, hows the weather like? Could it be that your just not finding them as easily this time yet they are still just as abundant? If I wanted to I could go outside into my backyard and find at least a jumper a day so they are very common here. Infact I just caught two of a new species the other day That reminds me, I really need to shoot them! I must have 15 jumping spiders im keeping right now.....

    Hey Tanner.

I have a question and I think you might be the person to answer it.

Were did the Jumping Spiders go?

I did manage to take a few shots of them at the countryplace early this spring.
Here in Sweden spring can be late and quick. I think this was in May or very early june.
I saw several of them playing around and even 1 tiny baby.
Then I came back here Late June and couldnt find any at all.
I have now been here since thurdsday and i have still not seen any.

Is it the same were you live?
is this common or have they all been eaten by some vicious creature?

    All the best
    Martin
