    Good for you.

I love the lens too, except that it needs more focusing adjustment at the long end than my K5 is able too. In other words, it is not right on the target at 250mm f4. I think that I will have it fixed in half a year when I am back from travel. My K5 may need some adjustment at the time too.

With respect to good spots, I am not sure which national parks you plan to go to. I have had great time in Grand Teton, Canyonlands, Yellowstone, Bryce, and Arches. My experience is underwhelming in Capital Reef, Great Basin, and Zion. Here is the link to my pentax gallary. You can find some ones from the park around. Let me know which parks, I will give you more info. Good luck,

A brief note to thank you. I got a DA* 50-250 a few weeks ago from B&H, before the price increase, and it was not your "defective" serial number. My first foray into monster zooms, and I couldn't be happier - it's quite the lens!

Will be down towards SLC and the national parks in May, and if you get the chance, perhaps you would share some of your favorite photography locations.

    Again, thank you!

You are welcome. It is a great lens. I have enjoyed it more over time. It takes a bit time to get used to it.

I have not heard many complaints about defects. That is why it took me a while to return the lens. PF discussions about this issue are certainly very helpful.

Thank you very much. There can only be so many of these lenses on the market at any one time, and I appreciate you looking through stacks of stuff.

Your final DA*60-250 copy looks good!

After digging into the piles, I found the number which is 9227070.141247. Based on the number of digits on the replacement lens, the serial number should be 9227070. Hope this helps.

I'd like to buy a DA*60-250 via B&H, but I don't want to end up with the copies you had problems with. Can you send me the serial numbers of the "defective" lenses? They are listed on the invoice that B&H packs with each shipment.

Would really appreciate it - Thanks so much.
