    I have an SVR-80ED doublet. I think all of Stellarvue's ED scopes are by definition doublets. I bought the doublet for weight and cost considerations; it's a great "grab&go" scope.

    Knowing what I know now, I wish I bought a larger triplet. My astronomy hobby has evolved to more astrophotography and less visual observing. Doublets show a little purple fringing around bright stars during long exposures. I see no fringing during visual usage, just in photos.
