Sam, Hello from CT! Just want to thank you for posting that compelling review and wonderful pix (!!) about the ist-DS. I am retired and on a very limited budget and just gave my backup camera to my son who needs it more than I do (K-X w/ Pentax 18-55 lens). That left me with my beloved K-01 but no backup body. Your review has convinced me to buy an ist-DS for the price of a decent lunch (on ebay with a nonfunctional flash/missing USB flap, which I can live with/fix)--instead of going into debt for a more modern DSLR.
