A couple of the shots in there would have been with the K-x and kit lens actually. The stacey and darrin shots were all kit lens for the wider shots and di 90mm for the zoomed shots. But most are with DA limited lenses (15,40 and 70mm) or a Tamron Di 90mm lens (which is very cheap).

Also most are with the K-5 not K-x. K-x shots are stacey and darrin + dan and shandelle weddings. the rest are K-5.

My main lens is a sigma 30 1.4 not because it’s a great lens but because I really like that focal length for weddings. At 35mm you can do portraits and pull back and get some great story shots. So for most situations, yes 35 will serve you well.

Sebastain- Great blog, really like the portraits.
In short, it depends. With good light yes. With poor light no (Unless you are really experienced with flash.)
The k-x is a perfectly capable camera for weddings.
I can occasionally get a usable colored image at 3200 ISO but usually convert to black when shooting that high.
If you have an outside wedding you will have no problem at 2.4 however if you will be shooting indoors you will wish for something a bit faster but still bight be able to get it to work for ya. That said, with limited funds sometimes you just have to make it work. On a side note, when I am not shooting for money, I permanently keep the M 50 1.7 on my camera. I would not hesitate to use that lens if you decide to do some posed shots and have time to foucs. O ya… Beg, barrow, steal whatever you have to do for another back up body.
    Hope that helps.
