Picture 19 of 37 from Album Single In September
3M 5A MC 500mm Day 16

Straight from Camera with manual settings...

Ok I think the other challenge was something straight from camera... this is it... i was on fire today... stopped at a pond, light was perfect... 240 frames... all ok... many good... so I'll pick 10 or so and post them to another gallery... I like this one, because I like the other birds belly in the shot... I'd just like to say... auto focus is for the birds... man and pan is where it is at... further to that... no light meter... i used the sunny 16 rule... knowing I had a fix F/8 and I needed 600+ shutter speeds... it came out ok...

So I guess that is two challenges in one photo! No little green button for this guy!

DNG exported to jpg < 700kb... that's all...

Great result! That thing must have been just booting along.

P.S. "man and pan", now that's muscular photography. 8^)

Yes! Excellent shot and I also think the belly of the other bird adds to the movement.
