    Hi Pete. That gradient you're seeing is a combination of vignetting in the telescope and the severe levels of light pollution. I live in a red zone, Bortles 8-9. Naked eye viewing here is limited to somewhere around magnitude 4 or 5. My raw images have a pinkish cast with dark corners. I'm not sure what I can do about it other than install a LPR filter.

    P.S. David, I just looked into your recent thread that shows that same type of radial gradient also in the Orion Nebula image where it appears blue due to your processing. I would strongly recommend to find out the reason for this gradient and eliminate it if possible.
