Picture 15 of 18 from Album 12 Days of Christmas
Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat.
Please put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God Bless you!

Clever! Have a gander at this lot! Where's the bloody water gone? Are you familiar with Jethro Tull?....

"Skating away ... skating away...on the thin ice of a new day..ay.ay ayay..
and as you push off from the shore, won't you turn your head once more,
and be at peace with everyone!"

Can you tell I like this!

    Cheers Paddy

This shot is so sad, yet funny at the same time.
  4. Hambino
Why is this sad? Unless these really are for dinner!!! Either way, I like this shot

Glad you guys like the geese! It was around feeding time and they thought I Might be food guy #1. All the park resident, birds, are very tame, and beloved by this town. They will not be anyones dinner. I worry though because they are so trusting. Every evening a bag of bird chow is delivered. The cold didn't seem to bother them too much, some were even swimming in the open water, brrrrrr....

Haha, seeing your shot sets my imagination at work and I see them slipping and sliding on the ice.
Doesn't your dog wants to chase them?
  7. chemtech
Karen, I do have some pics of the ducks slipping and sliding, but not the geese. Buster, my dog was at home, he likes the couch better than the cold. I'm sure he would love the chance to try and chase them! Doubt, if he would have been successful and sorry if he was. Geese, if they feel threatened can turn ugly. (Watch geese at my Aunts house were MEAN)

The Olympic Goose Ice hockey team. haha! great capture.
  9. KarenH
Oh yes, geese can behave very ugly, good thing Buster was at home.
Last year when we were on holiday in Holland, the dogs saw some swans. They didn't chase them, but came too close imo, so we called them back.

Thanks, I think they are still around. I just noticed that the smaller white one on the far right just might be a duck!
