Okey! It doesn't seem to be the T4 version. But from what other people have said it SHOULD work with the 5d. Canon isn't really the ideal brand for old lenses.

Very nice to use wide angles on ff and other m42s too ofc.

Hello, thanks for the answer. I also came across that blog. Too bad there aren't much info about the lens, and no info at all how it works mounted on a 5d.

It is an m42 mount probably modified then? I haven't had any possibility to try it - it's a guy who's selling it on the internet. I've asked him some questions, but I don't know how much he knows (it's pretty cheap) and he hasn't replied yet.

I thought I'd best ask someone over here at the forums first, there are many experts here.

Johan, mine is the Vivitar version, a T4 mount, and as it is an interchangeable mount the incompatibilities should be minimal. I don't know about the 5D, and sorry to say I'm between houses so the lens is packed up in storage.

Is yours the T4? Here's an interesting little blog on fixing the lack of A/M switch - I have an adapter that has a push button stop down and simply put a wide rubber band around it.

Hello, how do you think the Soligor Wide-Auto 21 3,8 will do on a EOS 5d? Do you know if it protroudes enough to hit the mirror?

Othervice, have you got any possibility to compare how much it protroudes to the 55 1,8mm takumar or 50 1,4 takumar?

I'm thinking of getting one, but it might not be worth it if it's protrouding too much.

    Thankful for answer!
    Johan
