This is the shooting stick I used for the yoke. It is a fine monopod by itself and is useful as a walking stick too, but I wanted a monopod that could be carried in a normal camera bag.

Gary,The yoke was from a "Shooting Stick" I bought at Walmart. A Shooting Stick is basically a monopod with a yoke on top for resting a gun barrel. I've found a yoke to be a good rest for a lens barrel.
Centering the hanger bolts was no problem for the tripod legs I used to make the monopod - they just fit & had to be lightly screwed in place.
