Just got to see OFF! and Descendents. Keith Morris is too much for me but Descendents were amazing.

Saw a lot of bands (35 or so)
Best shows, thursday at YDS ****ed up, OFF! and Descendants
Thursday at the Garrison Ty Segall, DIG and MSAYS
Wednesday Red mass was the best I saw
Friday Vandelles ad MSAYS (again) at comfort zone, Super Vacations and Black Void at Ranco later also good
Saturday I spent the whole night at The Silver Dollar and not a bad show in the bunch (CATL, Eli V Gore, White Eyes, Teenanger, Crocodiles, and Bad Cop)

Also saw Dirty Beaches (amongst others at YDS Saturday, though he was like Suicide goes Asian Elvis)

Hey Eddie, who'd you catch at nxne? My band played a show with Inepsy, and I got to see Descendents friday. Wanted to see Devo but we had to leave saturday morning.

so am I (though one shop has started a try before you buy program it's expensive and the more esoteric glass is not usually available. Unlike the US there are no mail order rentals for pentax here.

Unfortunately for me, I'm out of luck when it comes to renting pentax gear here.

well there is the 200 2.8, and bigger fast sigmas, but to be honest i'd never buy the big ones, IMHO they are rental lenses for the way i shoot. If i shot sports for a living then it's another story altogether

Yeah I'm still kind of bummed I missed that, and definitely agreed on the huge 2.8 void.

wasn't always that way but yeah the music scene here is pretty good. I go out to shows less now my busiest time is usually NXNE and then i'll see in the range of30+ bands in a few days
Last year was nuts with good stuff (christ even just the free shows were damn good with the Stooges topping it - no damn press for that though tried from the pit but it was too nuts to get a good shot. only time i wished i had a canon so i could have rented a huge 2.8 for a day)
