You sent a message back in January that I never saw...I'm very distracted and seldom shooting right now. I am teaching a young man to shoot and he has some tak and m lenses...I still enjoy the whole thing a lot....just not right circumstances for me to post and all. I might start back up with something regular in th next year or two. If so, I hope you will join in. Lets stay in touch Rick. By the way, I was in N Carolina last summer...loved it. I might have told you that already. Maybe I'll get out your way one day and we can take out a lense or two shooting stuff around your neighborhood. Take care, Mike

I always like live music/street musician shots anyway, but your PP looks good. btw, thank you for using "The Kit Lens" in the thread! I don't wanna be the forum police but it always bugs me seeing shots from the 18-135, etc. in there.

Also, that Cambridge in Colour sharpening tutorial is excellent. I'm starting to use some of those techniques in my PP & it really helps. So what are you using to process your RAWs?

Still getting to know it but it does seem pretty capable. using it for single in september so i'll put it through the paces. It is damn nice to shoot AF for a change though, and given they can be had used for $150-160 i think they are a steal

In the K2000 serial number database you are listed as a K-m owner. I was hoping you could help me out. We are trying to add support for this camera in our Windows codec so that you can view the RAW PEF files in places like Windows File Explorer however do not have the camera to generate the needed images. Do you think you could take the shots and send them to me?
What I am looking for are JPEG/PEF pairs with an image from every ISO of the camera. Set the camera to RAW+ the RAW to PEF and the Color space to sRGB. Then take an image at ISO 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200. Just 5 shots for 5 PEF and JPEG images.
    Thanks in advance.

It is the most useful of my A lenses for APSC for both wide angle and portrait range in cities and for wide angle landscapes, other newer lenses are much wider but this was the widest zoom in that series. The fixed F4 aperture is about as good as you can get on a zoom. I haven't noticed any difference in image quality at any different range of zoom, its as good as any A lens which is as good as I could ask for without paying six times as much for something like a newer FA lens.

I see a lot of hyperbole on lenses that are just good, but because the user is a neophyte and it's their first prime you'd think a decent lens was an FA31 LTD
there are certainly lot's of gems in the old lenses for the prices they can be gotten for, but sometimes the hype drives the prices well beyond what they are worth. For instance I doubt i'd buy a K,M,A or Tak 85 for the current prices when I could get the Very good(but not stellar) bower/rokinon for under $300 new with rear element coatings

Glad the m 28 3.5 review was helpful, really i'm not a brick wall shooter so my lens reviews are subjective at best (based on 52 year old so so eyes )

Note to Self - I think I'm over the LBA thing

Rick, thanks for the link. Beautiful examples, and some shots I wouldn't expect, since it's not a close-focus lens. I can't wait to use mine again, but atm still marveling at the IQ from the 35-70. btw, the Google translations on the VN Photo page are sometimes comical Did you get your 75-150 yet?
