    Thanks,

I added a post to the K-r forum with a link to a you tube video I did of the installation and the comparison between the S screen and the stock screen.

    Hi there!

Yes, it will definitely go dark at such a small aperture! I honestly believe the KatzEye screen would do too! The only thing the marketed "Opti-Brite" helps in preventing a total black out..

So yes, whichever you see it, I sincerely believe that it's either the S-screen or the stock screen, pound-for-pound...

    Regards,
    SyncGuy

Subsequently, if this affects you too much, then there's no other better advice then to stick the stock screen provided. It is highly beneficial for you to use either the KatzEye or S-screen for "fast" lenses.

Therefore, it is either, lose the lens, or stick with the stock screen and lose the ability to focus accurately up to f/1.2 with fast lenses in comparison.

Alternatively, you can focus wide open first, and then close down these M42 lenses to f/8 and just snap away. F/8 has a pretty large DoF you know?

Oh my goodness! I am TRULY sorry for the late reply.. Still kinda new to PF's console and what-nots.

Hope i am not too late on this. But ok, pertaining to the availibility of the FS, you will need to drop them an email enquiry on it and they will "make" it for you and list it up as available.

As for the report that it will get darker, well, yes.. Just slightly, from any aperture smaller than f/3.5.. It can get darker than the stock screen's, at all given aperture past f/3.5..

As i do not have that much experience with M42 lenses, i wouldn't know how to advise you on this. But if the lens focuses wide open, only to stop down at the desired shooting aperture when you finally hit the shutter button, then it should not affect you at all. Unless of course the largest aperture of a given lens begins with an aperture smaller than f/3.5, then i would be slightly concerned.

Know what i mean? And this would be very much similar to the KatzEye too..
