Well, 40 years will do that to memories and that 's a great shot, certainly!
Ah - so what I did with my folks was drive to the top of Revelstoke (or simialr) & look across at Begbie!
That makes more sense, and would account for my almost-accurate memory. Thanks for the gentle correction, and a great memory trip.

If I was in your shoes I would be definitely be looking at the DA 15 before any FA since the 31 is still pretty close to your 40, except speed! I love the fact that I can use the 43 indoors in poor lighting and still get decent crisp results (manual focusing of course, I just don't trust AF in bad lighting.

Hey! Nice of you to write I have the DA 40 and DA 70. As much as i love them.... i have to go FA Ltd now... im at that point now. It has to be done.
So the natural thing to do is just to order the 43 and 77. That would make me feel at home. I love the "normal tightness" of the DA 40. But only outside, inside for people shots it quickly becomes a tad tight imo.

However, the 31' is nagging in my mind.... And it would come to more use where the 40 or 43 fails.

    Basicaly, i want both 43 and 31

What i dont like, is the thought of having both and get bothered by wich to use. But after looking through the whole FA Ltd thread i can clearly see the patterns. The 31 seem to get more landscape and enviromental shots, whereas the 43 gets more portraits and closeups done.

So..... i seem to bee heading that way to, have all three plus the 15.

    Regards

Thank you for the very kind words Chex (: That shot was taken at Buntzen Lake in BC, Canada; it's in the tree likely because the lake is flooded at the moment, joining the trees in the water are some recycling bins and picnic tables LOL

I'm located in Penticton... as for snow there was enough of an accumulation to last almost two weeks back in January. The little that came usually went within a day or two. Some years there is more and some years there is less to the point where all we get is the odd skiff of snow.

It's amazing how much snow Revelstoke gets, especially considering it's only a three hour drive from here. It's a nice area and I'd like to explore it more with my camera this summer.

That's interesting, because to the best of my knowledge I do not have a flickr account, unless my memory is going? If you have a link, I'd like to check it out. - John

thats what I'm hoping! Even if we have to merge a few to get active membership up to do something it would be great.

Yes, I saw the user groups - not a lot of activity the last year, but I guess if some of us newer members post we could see if it becomes more active.

Thats a nice area of the Okanogan, and probably would be a LOT nicer right now than up here in Revelstoke. This cold snap is no fun. -30ish after windchill during the evenings!
