"How are you finding the Auto-Takumar 55s and that beautiful Super-Takumar 50? Simon"

Forgot to answer ... great so far, but have not really put the 55s through their paces yet. Really looking forward to the ST 50/1.4 ... gorgeous lens that should produce equally gorgeous captures ... will share when some are ready! Later, J

    Salut Simon,

Thanks for your message and enjoy your K-3. I am hoping that I can hold off until a FF appears ... would keep the K-5 as a second body. I sent my MX and Spottie F to Eric H for CLA, because I want to do more film this year. Both bodies are in excellent shape and merit the extra $ in my books ... "keepers" for my collection. I may have scored a super (non-Pentax) lens, but "mum" is the word until it arrives at my door ... the check has been sent and now awaiting the post to arrive. Cheers, J

Many thanks John, I tried to leave a message with my "like" but messed up. What I wanted to say was that you're in a good position with your K-5; you'll be able (hopefully) to go straight to a reasonably priced FF camera when your K-5 expires, and use all those wonderful film-era lenses as designed. I was hoping my K20D would last another year or so....I had the Sony A& in my hands...what a temptation that is, but overall the K-3 should be great for a long time!! How are you finding the Auto-Takumar 55s and that beautiful Super-Takumar 50? Simon

    Bonjour utak,

Thanks for your message and the comparison idea for the Helios sounds great ... if I find the time, maybe I'll try the same ... thanks for your great images, John

    Hi Jean.

Many thanks for your very fast like today and others. I appreciate it.

I was thinking about posting a simple comparison of swirly bokeh between the 44-2, 44M and 44M-4 (the lenses I have), using a similar flower scene. Have you seen a comparison like this on the forum? Maybe there is already a comparison?

By the way, thanks also for separating out the different Helios in the lens review section, lumping all the 44's together always bugged me, as my 44-2 is not like the 44M, physically or mentally!

    Cheers
