Albert's SMC Takumar 1:1.8 / 55 on Mother's Day
Just for fun I put the SMC Takumar 1:1.8 / 55 S/N 7922422 on the K-3 for the Mother's Day Drive.

Images showing 400 mm were before I turned on Shake Reduction and set the focal length correctly. Last manual lens I used was the M 400.

We drove from Sparwood, BC to Chinook Lake just over the Alberta border, but didn't get to the lake because the road was closed.

I decided to take Claire to Beauvais Lake Provincial Park, 10 km West of Pincher Creek, and stopped at the Frank Slide highway pullout on the way for a few shots.

Took some more snaps at Beauvais Lake.

The day taught me that I must remember to use the Man/Auto switch properly and focus more carefully. I would have thought I could have done better, since I started out with a Takumar 55 mm f/2.2 preset, and used it for some 20+ years, but I guess not.

It also showed me that the SMC Tak is not particularly prone to CA nor to PF when used at f/8. The images were taken directly from the Raw card, with the odd exposure modification.
The Frank Slide history at the turn out.
