    After graduating from NYIP in 1981, I worked for New York commercial photographer Arnold Katz, learning the craft of large format product photography, shooting books for catalogs, developing 4x5 and 8x10 sheet film, and assisting in a high-volume commercial studio. Enjoying the creative potential of darkroom techniques, I first studied black and white photography in the Seventies and Eighties, corresponding with the late Mr. Ansel Adams via black and white postcards.
