Firstly I'm sorry I missed your post about a brief visit to Scotland. I live in Argyll on the West Coast and would have been more than happy to lend you my house, but your Scotland Album shows you managed to get around quite a bit without my assistance. But the reason I'm messaging you is that there's a deal on the DA 560 that brings it down to £3870 with the Sigma at £3765. The sigma is tried and tested but WR is appealing in the West of Scotland, and I guess you wouldn't covering the Sigma with sand and washing it in an Afghan shower block. I've heard that the Pentax 1.4 TC works well with the Sigma 500 4.5 with a slight adjustment to exposure, and I assume that Pentax made their 1.4x TC as compatible as possible
So, in summary, would you have any pointers which way o go forward?
Finally if you're ever back in Scotland please let me know and I'll see what I can do about getting you to the best photo locations I know of in these parts.
