Picture 18 of 28 from Album Single in March
Sometimes we capture the moment, sometimes we miss it. As I pulled into the post office parking lot, a slight opening in the clouds had illuminated the mountain in a beautiful shaft of light. By the time I got parked, the fast moving clouds sealed it off. My whole day was like this. A spectacular sunset and I just didn't get a good shot. So this is what I have to settle for. A little mist, a nice reflection but not the beautiful light I witnessed just moments earlier.

I know what you mean about missing the light, but this is a beautiful scene, nonetheless with a wonderful moody intensity.

This one looks good, I like the framing.
I understand your disappointment because of missing the shot you wanted.
But..... you saw it, so it's still in your memory, like taking pictures with your mind.

    Still a great shot!

Very good! In my eyes it signals spring and warmer weather. Snow, but with the remains of ice floating in the water it is only a question about days before it is all gone

I have learned over the years, if you don't have your camera in hand and ready in those occasions you WILL MISS IT.
I like this photo it tells a lot.

Trying to catch up on albums after being away, and this jumped at me! Brilliant! Well done!

Did you try a crop for more of a landscape thing? This could work a treat!

    Cheers Paddy

Definitely know what you mean. Still very nice. My brother lived in Saranac Lake for a time. This reminds me of there. I was there in January, lot more snow.
