I would love to talk to you, but I lost your phone number. You can contact me at (717) 283-5619 and then I'll have yours.
I switched systems also. I now enjoy shooting with My new Canon EOS 5D Mark ll. Lens Line up is small for now but has Power behind it. First lens was the 24-105 F/4-5.6 L is USM This is standard Kit lens for the 5D, Next up is the Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L is USM Great walk around lens. Then I chose the Canon 85mm f/1.2 L ll USM for mostly portrait and close in work. I also invested in the 580ex ll speed light.are I really miss talking to you.

Recently acquired from ebay, Pentax ES II, cosmetically and optically like new EXCEPT that Viewfinder blind is locked shut, and nothing I do (new batteries, fiddle the shutter-speed dial, battery-test button, exposure-compensation-dial, hitting it, praying) has any effect. I COULD just gestimate the distance frame bygolly, and shoot, and with that lovely Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1.8/55, it would probably come out with a good photograph, ... but with such a beautiful TTL, it seems a shame.

spend the money and get the 540 you can add a battery pack to it etc. later if you decide to.
another option that seams to be working is the Metz and the Sigma 530 flashes the metz can take a power pack, but not the sigma.
you have to have a dedicated flash unles your shooting in A mode and nothing since the *ist-D has had a TTL sensor for flash in it. (its all pttl) You have to get a pentax dedicated flash one for nikon etc wont work.
Get an Omni-bounce with it when you order, it works fine for 80% of the things you do, the flash has a built in "index-card-bounce) that you can use too (only in Horz. shooting) you can also use your hand (I do this a lot)
hope this helps

Hi Brendan, can you recommend a decent strobe for my k20? I'm getting sent to events where the other photographers use big strobes pointed straight up with and index card attached to the back - I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, LOL! More specifically, should I go for P-ttl or will a high quality ttl - a Nikon or something to do the job for bouncing the light? I've heard that P-TTL won't help for this purpose. Since I'm starting to get some momentum assignment wise, I don't want to blow and assignment!
Thanks again!
