Tony, aside from our personal differences, I felt compelled to tell you how much I think your photographic acumen has emerged far beyond where you were a year or so ago. Your composition and depth of field.... selective focus if you will.... has become a strong point of your work and it's taken you to a whole new level.

If I were honest.... which I always try to be.... I'd have to say I'm very envious of some of your recent work. The blue flower on the black background is very professional work and it's a money shot. I think you should look into marketing it.... and some of your other images.

There was a time when eaglem was pretty much the unspoken "King of the Flower Photographers" on the PF, but I think he has been displaced. Congratulations on your new position. You deserve it.

Keep up your amazing journey. You've found your niche.

Make it a good weekend, and stay safe.

Hey Tony - I've been selling a few items using my local Craigslist. Don't have any Pentax gear left, but might have some from my sister - her DSLR with lens was stolen, but she still has some items. We'll see. I do have some Canon items, but probably shouldn't go into that here! I've been doing some travelling - keeping pretty busy, so haven't been on any of the forums for awhile. Hope you and yours are well.

Top 'O the Mornin' to you, my friend! I thought I'd take the time to commend you on your recent photos. Your sharpness and saturation is superb. What I find amazing is that you're doing it with several DIFFERENT cameras and lenses! That goes to show it's not the equipment, but the man who's using it that makes or breaks the final results. Bravo, sir. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the PF every morning to see what you've posted.

    Happy Easter,

Hey Tony.... you might want to take a look at the Pentax-FA 50mm f:2.8 macro lens I've got listed on the Market Place. It has the highest sharpness rating possible with a perfect 10! It's the sharpest lens I've ever used! Sadly, I can't bend over like I did when I was younger, so I'm selling it. I have a FA 100mm f:2.8 that works better for me, with it's longer minimum focusing distance. You being the "Flower Shooter," you NEED a 1:1 macro that's the sharpest lens Pentax ever made!

Just thought I'd mention it. I've got it prices ridiculously low!

    Make it a great weekend,

I'm glad to see you're getting the hand of the 100mm lens. I've noticed a remarkable improvement in your flower photos! Bravo! I think a lot of it has to do with NOT using a flash. It always had tended to wash out the modeling when I use it. Mine always seem to look better with the dramatic lighting, especially if the background is rather dark, giving the flowers their own time "in the sun." I'm going to put my Pentax-FA 50mm f:2.8 Macro 1:1 lens on The Market Place tomorrow, just in case you're interested. Among those in the know, it's one of, if not THE best 1:1 macro on earth! It's loaded with Pixie Dust! It's the lens I used for the "Inner Sanctum" photo I posted on the forum.
Just thought you might be interested. I'm asking $190 plus shipping.

Oh. it's just a matter of getting old. I'm almost 73 and things are falling apart! With heart problems, TII diabetes, severe rheumatoid arthritis and degenerated hip and back, it sucks!
Other than that, I'm fit as a fiddle!

Yes, buddy, and ideally use the 2s delay and LiveView when you use the tripod - that'll help your pictures be sharper by getting rid of shutter and mirror shocks. Your style, like landscapes, relies on lots of detail, so you want to ditch handheld shooting as much as you can. I'm always posting pics somewhere, most recently at $$$$$ony A7iii - Page 2 - PentaxForums.com

    Take care Tony,
    Ian

Hi Tony - i'm looking at your post about the slow write/view speed. My suspicion is that there might be an issue with the SD card you are using, i might suggest investing in a new/faster card if possible.
