This is the mute swan image that I "sharpened" in PhotoShop Elements. It is sufficiently sharp, but I never had to sharpen images made with my FA* 300mm f/4.5 lens.
This might be due to the "sharpness" settings in my old vs. my new K-5. More later.
The first image is shown without any sharpening.

This was shot at f/8, before I tried closing down the aperture to f/10.
I watch these mute swans every day. Today I saw what I am relatively certain were the cygnets' first attempts at flight. What a thrill!!!

Here are three version of the same RAW image. The first was opened in Elements 10 and saved as a jpg with no processng at all. The second was opened in E10, cropped, anf "fill ste at 50. The thrid was opened in E10 and "auot" was clkicked then saved as a jpg.
