Floyd,
Thanks. You will be amazed at the quality of the images taken. It is a "sleeper" lens. As for it asking for the input focal length, that is normal on any PK or PK-A lens. Older lenses do not have chips to communicate focal length / zoom settings to the camera for Shake Reduction. Shake Reduction needs the focal length of the lens to know what motion compensation to apply to the sensor in order to reduce blur from camera shake. What I usually do is pick something near the middle of the focal range unless I know what focal length I'll be shooting. Ex: If I know I'll be shooting at 80mm, I'll select 80. If I don't know, I'll select 120. Hope that helps and enjoy shooting with your new gem!!
Note: You can also turn off Shake Reduction if you feel you don't need it, like when shooting at fast shutter speeds. With Shake Reduction turned off, it will no longer ask for the focal length.

Hello ripper2860...
Thanks for inspiring me to get myself a Tokina SZ-X 80-200mm !! Yes, it does seem to be a little bundle of joy.. though I still have to figure out a lot what it#s capable of. Cheers anyhow. I have a questions though. I'm using this with my K5II. - When mounted, the camera asks for' input focal length' every time, is that normal ??
thanks in advance
Floyd
