I was rooting around in mu files looking for the earlier saved example of my DA* 60-250 and came across this image.

K20D and DA* 60-250 from feb. 2011. The thing with digital is, the colours don't fade over time.

Thank you KCOPET. I enjoy your bridge over still waters too and find I take similar images when opportunity arises.

My Samsung GX20 (almost Pentax) shot my Takumar 135mm F2.5 Bayonet, as it is straight from the body.

Unless you fiddle with the saturation slider, that is

I keep thinking about getting myself a K20D again, if I can find a cheap one... to me it was almost a "just right" camera in terms of handling and features... and the sensor shortcomings, it seems, made me a better photographer. And I think only now in the current generation of CMOS has been catching up with whatever it is that the K20D's sensor had... some sort of magic - hardly any dynamic range, but the images still looked great if you got the light right.

I think what I miss the most was the 0 shutter shock, combined with the bulky body (for Pentax) and excellent SR (compared to my K10D I got about an extra stop of SR). I could get pictures from my DA 35 2.4 at about 1/8s or 1/10s that were sharp most of the time. 1/13s was always very sharp.

I finally succumbed to the lure of that well now auction site and picked up a K20D body tonight only £103. I hoping it's got a low shutter count and everything works and the firmware is up to date. Not asking for too much am i?

Is that how much they're going for? Maybe I should sell mine, I put it back in its box when I bought my K3-II earlier on in the year. And the daft thing is, I'm not that far from you IGlad!

They can go for a lot more but it all depends on who's selling and who's bidding on the day, so I was lucky but I didn't want to pay more than that as it'll be a spare body. If you don't use it use use the cash for your next upgrade.

K20D with Vivitar (Komine) 75-250 F3.8-4.5 @ 1/4000 sec ISO200 F5.6

Blue Heron

Same camera and lens as above @ ISO100 1/1250 sec F5.6

This K Mount Vivitar lens is a beautiful one touch zoom lens that has a slightly longer tele end than is usual for lenses at this time mid 70s - manual focus and solid metal. True Komine build.

Got a GBH taking off with my vintage k20d and DA200mm with quite a bit of cropping a few months ago when it was warmer in Toronto
