Love your creativity. Can't remember the last time curtain rod ends were featured! The gold and bronze tones seem to suit the high key finish and the curved "frames" are nicely bold. I find the bokehed shapes on the left a teensy bit distracting, but I reckon you've done well.

Thanks Rod, I see what you mean about the distraction of the bokehed shapes. it creates an off balance. I can clone those out.

That's really cool. Probably would be even better without the bits on the left, but is really good anyway

Thank you so much for your kind introduction (blush). I like the composition, and the golden tones, and the mirror!!.

How about trying to really zap the exposure...so light that the whole image almost disappears into white, and then darken the shadows (whatever dials you have to darken the shadows). That way, you lost the bits in the background and produce a high-key image.

On my high key images, I over-expose the image slightly in the camera settings used to take the photo, and then during pp I bring both ends of the light histogram in a lot (i.e. lighten and darken at the same time), and reduce contrast as much as possible. I clone out any patches in the background. And if it looks washed out colour wise, I then convert to b&w and its done!

utak, Thanks for comments and techniques tip. I will be trying them out.
