I enjoyed checking out your photo related blog. Some really interesting topics that I will have to spend more time reading in the future. I must correct one misconception. The profits Fujifilm enjoys from film as you noted on your graph is not the photographic film that you are thinking of. Actually their sales of photographic film only accounts for 2% of their revenue and the cameras currently account for about 8%. The film product that accounts for the majority of their profits is called Fujitac and pushes their film bases revenues way up is a film that is used in almost every non Plasma flat screen TV. Former CEO Shigetaka Komori explained this in an interview and also provided similar but older information in his book entitled Innovating Out of Crisis. By the way Fuji is also the second largest supplier of film to the medical field which is used for things like X-Rays etc. and that accounts for about 9% of their revenues which is also lumped into that film category.
