I've only had the chance to take the 150-500 out twice so far; one morning/afternoon at "Old Man's" just south of Trestles and a morning at Salt Creek. Using my K-30, the images where the break was closer to shore looked great. I was a bit disappointed with the original Q, however. The Q certainly had the reach for the distant break at Old Man's but it wasn't resolving as well as I'd like. Images from my MX-1 have never disappointed me so I'm hoping the Q7's sensor is the ticket. I'll post some pix here when I'm done culling. Do you have any surf pix of your own posted?

hi Mick, I just noticed your comment about the 150-500 on Q7 for surfing. Now I don't have that lense but I do have a mirror 500mm I use(tamron) and it works well.I also use a sigma 100-300 both on Q7 and Q10...ive found it very versatile and they are inexpensive too.I shoot surfing @ Crescent head(australias Rincon) and Saltwater Point.....both long pointbreaks so the reach of the Q( a teleconverter with a sensor) is outstanding.CLEAN WAVES...Peter
